Google UX Design Certificate Badge

I am a multifaceted design leader with 11 years in the industry.

I grew up and did my undergrad on the East Coast, got my masters degree in Dallas, and met my wife (and our dog, Mildred) while I was living in Raleigh. We lived in Northern Ghana for two years before settling in Chicago in the Summer of 2024.

Career

I am currently the Design Lead over Product and Brand at CloudSpot.

Previously, I was the Art Director at Momnt, responsible for Visual Design and consulting with the Product Team on visual design and UI elements. I was also at ShootProof, as the senior designer for their umbrella company, Foreground, which held 5 photography-centric brands.

Education

In pursuit of better understanding context for my own faith and a fundamental part of the identities of so many others, I studied religion at Virginia Tech. I then earned my masters in education at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Before settling on religion as a major, I studied architecture and design for two years and got my first copy of Adobe CS3. This would become the foundation for teaching myself how to design over my nights and weekends for the years that followed.

Interests

My wife and I moved to Tamale, Ghana, in mid-2022 as her medical team pioneered a new partnership between US and Ghanian academic medical institutions through an organization called AMPATH Ghana.

While living in Ghana for 2 years, I had the privilege of getting to get to know and even interview various local business owners. Through the process of studying entrepreneurship and design in a LMIC (Low or Middle Income Country) setting, I've learned a lot about equitable design and the gravity of practicing authentic empathy to understand and form real connections with people.
